WEATHER NOTICE: Bitterly cold snap in Gauteng on Thursday

JOBURG – Gauteng temperatures are expected to drop below zero due to sub-polar air.

The South African Weather Services (Saws) has issued a warning of cold weather conditions expected to hit Gauteng on July 22.

“The cold temperatures will be due to a succession of cold fronts that are expected to sweep across the southern half of the country,” said Saws in a statement.

Gauteng Weather predicted that temperatures in Johannesburg would reach a minimum of -3°C and a maximum of 7°C on July 22.

Saws said they would continue to monitor any further developments relating to this weather system and will issue subsequent updates as required. The public is urged and encouraged to regularly follow weather forecasts on television and radio. Updated information in this regard will regularly be available at www.weathersa.co.za as well as via the SA Weather Service Twitter account.
