Project aligns with World Book Day

BIRDHAVEN – Residents may assist in the drive to collect and donate books in honour of World Book Day on 23 April.

The 100ABC’ers Club and the Gourmet Grocer in Birdhaven are running a book collection drive.

Residents may assist in the drive to collect and donate books in honour of World Book Day on 23 April.

According to founder Akua Koranteng, the 100ABC’ers Club is a membership-based fundraising non-governmental organisation that was founded in 2010 with a special focus on raising funding for community-based non-governmental organisations whose focus is on the betterment of children.

“We work towards aiding in the sustainability of children’s organisations in hope that they will continue to improve the lives of the most vulnerable members of our society,” said Koranteng.

You can donate new or used books suitable for infants to the age of 18 through drop-offs at the Gourmet Grocer from 10am to 12pm or email services@100abc.co.za

Details: The Gourmet Grocer is on St Andrew Street and Wrenrose Avenue in Birdhaven.
