Happiness and art for a good cause

They have agreed to showcase their wares and works in raising funds for the cause.

Happy People Entertainment and Development Foundation has a lot of smiles to spread through art, laughter and joy.

Situated in Lonehill, they will be hosting a special online art auction from 30 November to 13 December, their mission is to celebrate local artists while raising funds.

Director of the foundation Portia Motale said that the idea behind these concepts are to reach a wider audience.

“I have partnered with a team of artists, from around the country, of which the majority of them are based between the Bryanston Market, Rosebank Market and a few others. They have agreed to showcase their wares and works in raising funds towards the cause.”

She said that when she started this foundation, the sole purpose was to put smiles on the faces of children and people.

“It’s for everyone and for me this whole thing is about love. We need to share the love, share our interests, and share the happiness we all sometimes experience,” said Motale.

Raising funds through art is a great way to give exposure to local artists and help them through these trying times.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has had a big negative impact for artists and some have struggled through these times. From painters to jewellery designers, it’s a way just to help them and give back to the community.”

“Brace yourselves and prepare to get a good dose of feel-good chemical releases. From paintings, crafts, ceramics, sculptures to beadwork. Get in the season of giving and gift your friends and family with something special.”
All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the artists involved and the Happy People Entertainment and Development Foundation.
