City Parks requests patience as they deal with fallen street trees

Joburg City Parks and Zoo has announced that they are dealing with an unprecedented number of fallen trees.

Joburg City Parks and Zoo has announced that they are dealing with an unprecedented number of fallen trees.

This follows the heavy storms of 31 October and 1 November, which caused destruction across the City.

Spokesperson for Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo Jenny Moodley said that the entity is prioritising uprooted trees that are obstructing main routes and those that have collapsed on walls or damaged homes.

“All street teams and additional contractors have been appointed to deal with the high number of requests and have added further contingencies due to worsening weather conditions,” said Moodley.

She said that City Parks is appealing for patience and for residents to only escalate fallen and uprooted trees to the emergency WhatsApp number on 082 803 0748 by forwarding the full address, contact details and a photo.
