Aspire to inspire!

Drawing inspiration from her favourite international model Tyra Banks, Xulu is a firm believer in self-love.

Aspiring model and Riverclub resident Andile Xulu wants to inspire others to follow their dreams.

With a number of achievements under her belt, one of the biggest being on popular soapie Rhythm City, Xulu plans on going international.

Drawing inspiration from her favourite international model Tyra Banks, Xulu is a firm believer in self-love, and one of her favourite quotes from the supermodel is: ‘Love every part of yourself even the things that frustrate you, they make you who you are’.

A PR graduate, Xulu is also doing a certificate in radio production.

“I just love the entertainment space and modelling has always been a passion of mine,” she said.

Motivated as a young girl by her grandmother, Xulu kept her sweet words with her wherever she went.

‘You are the most beautiful person that has ever walked on this earth, nothing can stop you from becoming a model like those ladies on your wall,’ was what Xulu’s grandmother told her and with that she went to make the world hers.

Becoming a Miss Johannesburg 2017 finalist where she was awarded with a senior public choice trophy and became the only black woman in the top six, she is not stopping yet. Inspired by her curves, Xulu wants to break societal beauty standards and having been rejected time and time again , Xulu stays motivated.

“One agency told me why I don’t qualify and I quote: ‘We don’t want people of your body shape in our world,’ I was also told to give up and find another career. I’ll be forever thankful for their comments about my body shape because I was motivated to go bigger.
“I was proud of who I was, I am still proud and will forever be proud of how I look because being different from other women makes me beautiful.”

Still on her journey, Xulu would like to inspire others to never give up.
