Digital funding for HospiceWits Night with the Stars

HospiceWits Night with the Stars has called upon their loyal friends in fashion, music, art, performing arts and the overall creative industry to come together digitally.

Popular fundraiser, HospiceWits Night with the Stars has called upon their loyal friends in fashion, music, art, performing arts and the overall creative industry to come together digitally, Calling it the Lounge Edition, on 28 July stars will show their support in solidarity to raise funds through social media using Instagram.

A Sandton favourite, director and producer of HospiceWits Night with the Stars, Jan Malan said he was devastated the production couldn’t take place. “We were thinking how we will do it and this is the best way forward. Still apart, this will help everyone find a connection with one another all for a good cause,” added Malan.

He said while the actual show couldn’t go live, it would be an opportunity to ask people to please donate to HospiceWits in lieu of HospiceWits Night with the Stars not being able to take place due to the Cocid-19 pandemic.HospiceWits CEO Jacqui Kaye said she was looking forward to seeing a lot of activity on the night.

“I do think that we are going to get a lot more chatter, a lot more Instagram activity to raise money for funding which is something we desperately need,” added Kaye.

An exciting way of doing things, Kaye said it was important to keep the positivity up. “It’s really exciting you know, the idea was kind of forced on us but at the same time it’s a new normal and I’m really happy about it. I think it might even reach a wider audience and from that point of view it is going to be really great to see how many people get involved in it.”

She added that it was critical to continue reaching the communities they served at HospiceWits in the northern suburbs.

Supporters of the annual fashion show will go live on Instagram between 6pm and 10pm on 28 July to donate and create awareness. “Maximising the quality of life for people in the last phases of a disease that cannot be cured, the process will allow donators to follow a link and pledge a sum to the organisation.”
