Active Covid-19 cases in Region B amount to 54 per cent

JOBURG – Suburbs in Region B include Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North.

The Gauteng Department of Health has confirmed that 54 per cent of Covid-19 cases in Johannesburg’s northern suburbs of Region B remain active, as of 8 June.

According to the department in its latest district and sub-district breakdown, Region B recorded 445 cases and 205 recoveries.

This is an increase of 16 cases and four recoveries.

Suburbs in Region B include Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North.

Also in the northern suburbs, Region E recorded 516 cases and 214 recoveries.

This is an increase of 19 cases and six recoveries.

Suburbs in Region E include Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton.

The City of Johannesburg confirmed 3 025 cases and 1 501 recoveries while the number of deaths has remained at 22.

Unallocated cases stand at 141 and recoveries at 84.
