With love from the Big Apple

MORNINGSIDE– Former Morningside resident, Camilla Crawford is doing it all in New York City.

Seriously sexy and sassy is Camilla Crawford. A former Morningside resident and now living out her dreams in the big apple –New York City.

We caught up with her to see what she’s been up to since the big move in 2013.

A professional actress, she has ventured out and just released a new single titled, Harley Quinn

“Diving into the music industry – something I have been wanting to do since before I moved here – it has been incredibly rewarding.”

Together with her producer, she is also working on an instrumental ballad and a music video.”I’m also very excited to be partnering with the New York Music and Film Foundation, an accredited non-profit artistic organisation that works to provide various forms of support and resources for upcoming performers and filmmakers.”

This month Crawford celebrates seven years in the States and she is excited. “New York has given me the opportunity to explore many different aspects of the entertainment industry over the years – film, theatre, playwrighting, television, and new music.

“I’ve been in casting rooms I would never have dreamed possible – auditioning for co-starring roles in network television shows, like Mr. Robot & The Deuce.”

She added that with many opportunities there, it does have its ups and downs. “I’ve experienced some of the most rewarding moments of my life, while also having to power through some of the most difficult moments of my life. It can be hard, essentially being here alone.”

Some of her highlights are the success stories in New York City.”What is especially wonderful about the entertainment industry here is that people want to see you succeed – they need you, as much as you need them. Once you are able to recognise what you bring to the table, you will become unstoppable.”
