Ways to keep the Easter spirit alive during lockdown

JOBURG – Keeping the Easter spirit alive and saving special memories by entering the Easter challenge. Families can keep busy this Easter by taking photos of their children and having them edited.

People and businesses have found many ways to keep themselves busy during the lockdown. Now approaching Easter, things are different and it is an opportunity for families to do fun activities together.

Casandra Kruger, the founder of Cressa Arts & Photography started an Easter challenge to help families create memories together.

“Many parents are looking for fun things to do during lockdown with their children, Easter would be a day of going out to parks and hunting for those Easter eggs. Lockdown may be limiting us but that doesn’t mean the fun for this occasion has to stop,” said Kruger.

Her Easter challenge comes from a place of giving families something fun to do as a family, getting families to spend time together and coming up with creative ways to capture those memories unique to each family.

“I’ll be taking the time and editing those images for free. I’d like to challenge Sandton residents to join in on the fun, let’s share our creative skills, our happy moments during these tough times, let’s uplift and for once, not worry about anything and only appreciate the beauty of family and the irreplaceable memories that come from that,” she added.

She said photography for her is more than just capturing a moment; it’s about making a person feel something when looking at those photos. Making the physical, mental and emotional progress tangible. She listens to what parents need from her instead of telling them what she can offer.

This is a time to be positive and keeping busy with loved ones is something that people need. What is important now is staying at home and help flatten the curve. Using social media to keep busy and checkup on each other is essential at a time like this.
