Breakdancing straight into success

SANDTON – Breakdancer Courtnae' Paul is a pioneer for female dancers in South Africa and is doing the most in 2020.

It’s not every day that you come across brains, beauty and breakdancing all in one. Ambassador for women and entertainment hub is Courtnae’ Paul. Being one of the pioneers for South African female breakdancers and female dancers as a whole she has earned her stripes in the entertainment industry.

Living out her dreams, this Bryanston resident mentions that it is all worth it.

“I would describe my craft as getting paid to live out your passion and dreams. Your late-night, early morning, anxiety-stricken but highly rewarding passion and dreams.”

With dance being her first love, Paul is also business savvy. Focusing on all things entertainment-related, her company CP Entertainment specialises in performance and creative direction.

Right now she is working on some exciting campaigns for the New Year. Check her out as the headliner DJ and choreographer for the 2020 Sun Met. She will also be the official choreographer for FNB and KFC. We can even look forward to her first DJ single dropping and some screen time. “I’m excited about a surprise cameo too in a movie next year.”

Originally from Durban, Paul prefers nature and its greenery over the concrete hustle and bustle. As it comes with the territory, she’s is also a sneaker lover with her favourite pair being her ASICS Japan S sneakers. With that said the sassy breakdancer has also learnt a few life lessons while on her journey and those are, “Time waits for no man, wet socks are terrible, and you’re always stronger than you think.”

With only dancing on her mind, Paul has actually turned her hobby into a profession. So even when she’s not working she’s making moves. “Even in my downtime I’m still dancing, playing music and expanding on these things that make me happy. I’ve turned my hobbies into a career.”

Her hopes for the future are to leave behind a legacy that speaks to a more unified, healthier and happier nation. “A nation of go-getters and dream chasers who don’t take their talents to their graves.”
