Queening in every way possible

SANDTON – We catch up with the beautiful Kim Jayde Robinson from MTV Base Africa.

Entertainment queen, award-winning host and Sandton resident, Kim Jayde Robinson has had a full and fun year. Her latest project has launched and we got to see and hear this beautiful, raw and uncut on her new podcast and vlog – Conversations with Kim Jayde.

“What I wanted was to create a platform that was not driven by a brand or a channel or anything like that,” she said.

“I wanted to truly create a space where I could tell my story but also let other people’s stories shine through.”

Robinson said that throughout her life she always felt like an outsider. “The youth can relate to that narrative – so many kids today are struggling especially with the launch of social media, a lot of people need that hope to know that they should just keep pushing on.”

You can catch Robinson on YouTube and soon on 14 different streaming sites too. She has also just landed her first-ever magazine cover on the latest edition of Balanced Life Magazine

And if she doesn’t have enough on her plate already, Robinson has also just successfully registered her own production company called KJ Productions which will launch early next year. She said that as much as she loves being in front of the camera she really enjoys being behind it too. “I have been producing my own show for the longest time on MTV Base Africa.

Robinson has been in the industry for a few years and as a social worker by profession, she is passionate about giving back to the community. Her glamorous career has allowed her to have a platform to help and that gives her so much joy.

“I’m very happy that even though I am not a practising social worker, I’d like to think I am still giving back to the community and amplifying the homes and causes in need because of the platform I have.”

Originally a small-town girl from Bulawayo in Zimbabwe, another passion of hers on the lighter side of things, are sneakers. Her favourite pair is her first pair of Off-White kicks by the head designer of Louis Vuitton, Virgil Abloh whom she actually met while on a trip in the United States.
