From the Karoo to Sandton City

SANDTON – Santa Claus is ready to capture those special memories this Christmas at Sandton City.

It has long since been assumed that Santa Claus hails from the North Pole, however, it has come to light that he actually arrives here, all the way from the Karoo!

Since 2002 a familiar face could be seen at Sandton City during December, bringing festive cheer and memories to families.

For the past 15 years, Bundu Conradie has left his reindeer (sheep) behind and travelled in his sled (car) from the town of Prieska in the Northern Cape, all the way to the big city to sit on his throne and capture photos with children.

Conradie comments that on average they take around 400–500 photos a day during December. “I really love this job and I have fallen in love with the people of Sandton.”

Conradie said the beard is real and not the fake, as he tugs on his white fluffy beard.

Rumour has it he also goes on secret missions to children’s homes after hours.

Conradie AKA Santa Claus will be at the Checkers Court in Sandton City from 8 to 24 December for photo opportunities.
