International brands make their way to Sandton City

SANDTON – Sandton City is the place to be for international companies.

The man who has brought South Africa’s elite some of the most exclusive brands talks about why Sandton is the place for his stores.

Fawaz Idrissi, the senior vice president of Abuissa Holdings relaunched the Salvatore Ferragamo brand on 10 May – a boutique offering handmade shoes and accessories at Sandton City’s Diamond Walk.

Opened to a group of the most stylish fashion icons, bloggers and prominent local personalities, the new store offers a unique experience for shoppers through its expansion and renovation.

Businessman and local celebrity, Maps Maponyane, as well as model and fashion blogger Kim Jayde Robinson were just two of the recognisable faces at the launch of the store and two of the four members of The Muses quartet, opened the launch with some exciting moves and great tunes for all to enjoy

More importantly, Idrissi spoke to City Buzz about why it is important to bring more international brands to the same location.

“As a group we have only two stores open in South Africa, but we plan to open 60 more by 2020 – in different industries from cosmetics to other luxury branches and even high fashion branches. Sandton, for me, is doing the right thing in terms of the brand mix. It’s a destination and people not only South Africa but from the rest of the world, come here.”

It’s official – everyone is dying to come to Sandton!
