Hip-hop influencer joins forces Chivas Regal’s The Venture

The hip-hop influencer and renowned rapper, Boitumelo ‘Tumi’ Molekane, has joined forces with Chivas Regal’s The Venture, as the brand’s national ambassador, joining the esteemed American actor, writer, producer, and director, Don Cheadle.

In an interview with Fourways Review, Molekane said, “I feel so honoured to be announced as the national brand ambassador of Chivas Regal, as it’s great to be able to link with a brand with shared values. I really connect to this idea of winning the right away.”

Molekane added that when such a reputable brand recognises his realness, it reinforces his conviction in the value that he has built into himself .

When asked about his collaboration with Chivas, Tumi said he identified with the values of the esteemed scotch brand and what they are striving to do, as well as what they stand for.

Tumi grew up in the culturally vibrant and bustling township of Soweto and was undoubtedly influenced by his upbringing and surroundings, as his lyrics and poetry often poignantly reflect South Africa’s social reality.

He is known for his artistic skills which saw him reach overwhelming popularity. He worked consistently throughout his career – first with the eponymous, Tumi and the Volume, and later on his own. He launched his own record label, Motif, in the early 2000s, as a vehicle to facilitate the careers of young, emerging artists.

“To me, success is really kicking the door wide open for the next person. I, myself, am a product of winning the right way, of favours by some good people. So I pay it forward by co-signing some amazing talent.”

Looking to the future, Molekane plans on releasing his fourth solo studio album under the new moniker Stogie T. He is also looking forward to performing live this summer, in collaboration with Chivas Regal at the trendiest clubs and bars in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban with Metro FM’s radio host and DJ Moeti ‘Mo Flava’.
