The Spar Women’s 10km and 5km Race will be taking place on 9 October at the Wanderers Club in Illovo.
The most beautiful road race will see 12 000 participants of all ages take to the streets and the Metro police have approved road closures and lane restrictions as follows:
10km Spar Women’s route
Road Closures between 5am and 10am
- Corlett Drive between corner of Rudd Road and Irene Road
- Irene Road between corner of Corlett Drive and Kernick Avenue
- Corlett Drive between corner of Rudd Road and Oxford Road
Traffic detour between 7am and 10am
- Oxford Road between Bristol Road and Eastwold Way
- Riviera Road between corner of 4th and Killarney avenues
Road restrictions between 5am and 11am
- Irene Road corners of Corlett Drive and Kernick Avenue
- Atholl Oaklands Road corners of Fort Street and Corlett Drive
- Westwood Avenue between North and West Kernick avenues
- North Road corners of Wenrose and Westwood avenues
- Corlett Drive corners of Atherstone Road (both sides of Corlett drive) and Rudd Road
- Oxford Road corners of Corlett Drive, North Road, Bompas Road, Jellicoe Avenue, Tyrwhitt Avenue, Baker Street, Melrose Street, Glenhove Road, 8th Avenue,11th Avenue, 14th Avenue, North Avenue and Riviera Road
- Riviera Road corners of Main Avenue and River Street
- River Street corners of 4th Avenue, 8th Avenue and 11th Avenue
- Glenhove Avenue and 5th Street
Note
There will be no access to vehicles along the east side of Oxford Road. The Saxonwold west side will be contraflow for traffic from the corner of Corlett Drive to Bristol Road. All roads running into Oxford Road from the route side will be closed for the duration of the race and Oxford Road going towards Johannesburg City or Sandton will re-open when it is clear of runners.

- Rudd and Chaplin roads
- Thrupps Centre exit
- Rivonia Road and Central Avenue
- Crossing Road over Central Avenue
- Central Avenue at the corners of 1st to 6th avenues
- Atholl Oaklands Road and Fort Street
- Irene Road and Kernick Avenue
- North Street and Westwood Avenue to the entrance of Planet Fitness
Note
A one-way system will be implemented along Westwood Avenue from corner of Irene Road towards North Street circle between 5am and 10am.

- In Venus Street between North and Melrose streets
- Westwood Avenue between North Road and Kernick Avenue on the eastern side of the road
