Grade 10 pupils give back

SANDTON – Pupils of Brescia House School recently got their hands busy and assisted a shelter in heartfelt ways.

The Grade 10 pupils of Brescia House School recently completed a two-day community outreach project at Kids Haven Creche in Benoni.

The experience was enriching to the schoolchildren who all enjoyed the time they spent together.

Liz Norman, head of counselling and community outreach at Brescia House School said, “The girls spent their time revamping the creche by painting walls, sanding and repainting wooden furniture. They made new curtains for all the classrooms and made some of the older rooms into child-friendly spaces.

“The girls also spent time interacting with the little pupils, teaching them various educational games and activities.

“We hope the upgrade our pupils have completed at the creche has, in some small way, assisted the staff at Kids Haven in the valuable service they offer to the community.”
