Homy Beez aims to please

JOBURG – From Zimbabwe to Jozi, a music career begins.

Homy Beez is a Zimbabwean-born rapper and songwriter who relocated to Johannesburg to make a name for himself in the cutthroat music industry in South Africa.

Born in 1995, the young rapper said he has had many experiences in life which pushed him towards pursuing a career in music, but he especially wants to make people happy through doing what he loves and building his brand. “Music, basically, is the main thing that keeps people happy and entertained and, on the other hand, music is a business for an upcoming artist,” Beez noted.

It was the desire to make people happy that he started rapping in 2010 with a group of musicians. In 2013, the group released a seven-track EP (short album) which garnered a significant amount of recognition and built a fan base for the soon-to-be star. But, despite making it over their first milestone together, Beez decided that the crew was not for him and it was time for him to try things on his own.

Grateful for the work done as a group he said, “I have that stage experience. [During] all the shows that I have done before, I made sure that people don’t forget the excitement [that they experienced] and above all the name, Homy Beez.”

Last year, Beez officially became a solo artist and released a number of tracks including Born For This, Weekend and Nice Life Problems.

“With my talent and hard work, I look forward to greater things. I am highly motivated by the people around me because they believe in me as much as I do.”
