What to expect at MTV vs MTV Base DJ Battle

Tebogo Seema, also known as DJ Vigilante, recently revealed to the public what they could expect at this year’s MTV vs MTV Base DJ Battle which will take place at Carfax in Newtown on 27 August.

MTV, DStv channel 130 and MTV Base, DStv channel 322, in collaboration with Cadbury 5Star will host an awesome DJ line-up at the MTV Base DJ Battle.

Seema, who is one of the DJs battling it out on the day said, “I am very excited about this year’s battle and I can wait for people to see what we have in store. The battle will take us [DJs] out of our comfort zones as it will challenge us on who will pull out their best.”

The ultimate face-off will see MTV Base captain Mkhululi ‘Heavy K’ Siqula and his team of heavyweights, Fistaz Mixwell and Morgan ‘DJ Switch’ van Staden, go up against MTV captain, DJ Vigilante and spin masters, Phind’Gcobe ‘Ph’ Madubela and Zandi ‘ZanD’ Ngwenya in a memorable head-to-head battle.

The host of the battle will be Yfm radio host, Ayanda ‘MVP’ Mdluli and the performance for the night will be from Bongekile ‘Babes Wodumo’ Simelane who will make a guest appearance.

The battle will test the DJs’ skills and see who triumphs on the wheels of steel. Each battle will feature three DJs representing MTV and three DJs flying the flag for MTV Base, with DJ Vigilante and Heavy K as team captains.

It will surely be seen as the ultimate face-off, as each team will be lined up against each other in a series of deck-to-deck battles as they strive to out-mix, out-play and out-party each other. Wild card challenges will also be thrown into the mix and the audience will decide who will walk away with the title.
