Minty named winner

SANDTON – Zareef Minty has been named winner of season four of One Day Leader.

 

Thought leader and Morningside resident, Zareef Minty has been named the winner of the fourth season of the SABC show One Day Leader.

An LLB student at the University of the Witswatersrand, Minty is also an author, public speaker and columnist who took the cash prize of R350 000, compliments of the National Youth Development Agency. He said the money would be used towards furthering community-based projects.

Along with giving influence to the youth through his book Empire which attempts to help young people achieve success by improving thoughts and mindsets, the 22-year-old also became the youngest national youth president in South African history, serving as president of the youth wing of political party, the Patriotic Alliance at the age of 19. He also ran in the 2014 national general elections where he was fifth on the Patriotic Alliance parliamentary candidate list.

Minty is a motivational speaker who gives talks around the country and is also an activist for organisations such as Reach for a Dream and Unicef.

He said, “Let’s also congratulate contestants in season four [of One Day Leader] – Ludwekazi Ndlazi, Nandile Mlambo, Natasha Sesing, Sydney Madibo and Thamsanqa Pooe who are all future leaders of our beautiful country. Together we will continue making a difference in South Africa.”
