How to use Facebook’s 360º photo feature

Facebook is stepping up its app game with a new 360º photo feature for iOS and Android. Check out how to use it.

If you update your Facebook app on your iOS or Android phone, you will notice that there’s an awesome new feature that allows you take panoramic pictures and upload them.

Facebook introduced 360º photos to its newsfeed last week and uploading the 360º feature is super simple. Users who have purchased the Gear VR (Virtual Reality) from Samsung are also treated to a more immersive experience. Those who have their device with them can hit the “View in VR” button at the top left corner, and proceed to view the photo by moving their head around.

To try the Facebook 360º feature, just follow these steps:

1. Take images using a VR camera or piece together several images and then upload it on Facebook as you would any other image.

2. On the upper right-hand corner of the uploaded image, there will be a compass icon indicating the image is a 360º photo. By clicking and dragging on the image, the user can explore the photograph on their desktop.

3. On a smartphone, selecting the image and moving your gadget around will allow you to explore.
