Fatherhood ain’t no joke

SANDTON - Chris Forrest returns to the stage with Who's Your Daddy?

Comedian Chris Forrest is a man of many talents – he is funny, he can cook up a storm in the kitchen and is a good father to boot.

Forrest has been a professional comedian for almost 17 years and remembers where it all started. “I originally started telling jokes at Randburg Waterfront. There was a place there called the Funny Farm, and they had a competition where the guy with the funniest joke won a six pack of beer. I kept winning and eventually the manager offered me a 10-minute slot, and the rest is history.”

Forrest will talk about his experiences as a father and family man in his new show Who’s Your Daddy? The new one-man comedy will take place across South Africa and has already received glowing reviews.

“This new show is all about my journey to becoming a dad. From dealing with a pregnant woman to the day my child was born and the first few months after that, all told from a comedian’s perspective,” said Forrest.

He added that seasoned parents, as well as people who are about to go through childbirth for the first time, would love the show, but he has also catered for the non-parent as well.

“I specifically got a director involved who had never had children so that people who weren’t parents could still get into it.”

Forrest will be at the Auto & General Theatre on the Square in Sandton from 31 May to 18 June. Tickets cost R150 are available at www.strictlytickets.com
