Miss SA finalists to take part in World Swimsuit SA competition

JOBURG - One lucky Miss South Africa 2016 finalist will stand a chance to be featured in the World Swimsuit South Africa edition.

The swimsuit winner will be unveiled at the pageant finale following a World Swimsuit SA shoot on 18 and 19 February. The Miss South Africa 2016 finalists were unveiled at a glittering ceremony in Sandton last year.

Suzette van der Merwe, managing executive at Cell C, explained the significance of the collaboration with World Swimsuit.

“Appearing in World Swimsuit South Africa is one of the most sought-after opportunities in the modelling industry and it has propelled the modelling careers of many young women that have been selected to participate,” she said.

“It will [also] showcase this year’s Miss South Africa finalists as healthy role models for young women to aspire to.”

Adding to this was Aletha Carswell, co-founder of World Swimsuit South Africa, who highlighted the type of women featured in the World Swimsuit shoots.

“We love young women who are easy in their skin; we are not looking for perfection but prefer girls who are beautiful in a fresh, wholesome and effortless way,” she explained.

The pageant finale will take place on 19 March at Carnival City from 5pm to 7pm.
