50 Carat Gold at Barnyard
RIVONIA – Do you long for that time in history when musicians made music with their hearts, souls and every fibre of their being?
Then do not fret, for Barnyard Theatre has the solution to your musical woes. Entertainers at the venue are planning to showcase 50 of the greatest songs of all time from legendary artists such as Queen, Tina Turner and Elvis Presley, to name a few, in a show, 50 Carat Gold.
Spokesperson for the theatre group, Jess Miller, said the music reflected the defining moments in music history.
“The show will feature a 10-piece cast that will perform songs that have topped the charts for the past 60 years,” Miller explained.
“From the brilliance of Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen) to the heart-rending I Will Always Love You (Whitney Houston), 50 Carat Gold is a winner.
“Music has appeared on the charts in many styles and forms and 50 Carat Gold aims to cover every important song that made an impact on our lives.”
From the greatest rock ‘n roll song of all time, Blue Suede Shoes to the greatest rock anthems, We Will Rock You and We are the Champions and Don’t Stop Believing. From the greatest modern pop songs such as Dark Horse by Katy Perry, to one of the greatest South African songs, Asimbonanga by Johnny Clegg, this show will tug on everyone’s nostalgic heart strings.
Tickets can be bought through Computicket, or at the door for R170 per person. Tickets for Tuesday shows are for sale on a buy-one-get-one-free basis, and Sunday afternoon shows are at a discounted R100 per person.
