Sizwe Moeketsi, who is most commonly known as Reason, was born in Tembisa and raised in Katlehong.
The rapper, who is now most famous for his number one hit songs Bump the Cheese Up and Two Cups Shakur, embarked on his long journey with music at a young age and has officially made it big in the South African music industry.
His official rise to stardom began in 2012, when he recorded the song Do It Like I Can and became recognised as a legitimate rapper.
This step into the limelight as a rapper came after he released Walk On Water as a part of the Otelo Burning soundtrack, an award-winning South African movie that gained international kudos.
Since stepping onto the scene, Reason has taken on a number of challenges in the industry and has conquered them all – officially being able to label this year as the Reason Season.
The rapper seems to have a load up his sleeve, preparing for a number of song releases, big ideas and video releases this year, but not before his blow-out birthday bash at the end of June.
When asked who he most wants to work with, the rapper quickly and confidently divulged his music industry dream.
“I say this in every interview and I will keep saying it until it happens – Hugh Masekela,” said the rapper.
“Most importantly I trust the man with his music, but more than anything I admire him. He was an international artist in the 60s – hanging out with the coolest people and making the coolest music.
“I’m inspired by that man’s story – it’s very hard to have a 50-year-old career.”
