Veronica Look releases new music single

HALFWAY HOUSE - HALFWAY House resident and indie-rock singer/songwriter Alani Keisser, who performs using the name Veronica Look, just released a new single on the MTN Music plus app, Stone Cold Energy.

The app has been running for a few weeks now and focuses on local artists of all genres to try and boost the local music scene. Look got the opportunity to have her song on the app through a Mix FM radio show that was, at the time, hosted by Tamara Jeunette. The musician said she is excited to have her music on the platform as it is an app for local music. “It is a great way to grow my music locally and the music will be easily accessible to anyone who wants to download it.”

Look said she fell in love with poetry when she was 12, and later as a teenager she turned her poems into songs. She encouraged any young person who loves to write poems or music to continue doing so as one day it will pay off.

When asked about what she thinks of the problem of piracy that many recording artists face in South Africa, she said, “Personally, I have not yet experienced that and it is unfair to artists as they work hard to get their music to sell, while on the other hand, fans may pirate music because they love the song, ignoring the impact it has on artists.”

In September next year, Look will collaborate with poet April Southaven in Chicago for The Federation of Genealogical Societies in Springfield, Illinois.
