Action and romance in the park

LONEHILL – The Lonehill Residents’ Association has come up with the perfect way to enjoy a Saturday afternoon sunset by inviting all residents to their first-ever Movie in the Park.

“We will take you back to when the movie was only part of the main attraction,” said association representative and event organiser, Shelley Miller. “So bring your blankets and pillows, picnic baskets, family and friends, a little nostalgia, and relive the magic of the drive-in days.”

The screening will be held at Lonehill Park on 7 March and gates will open at 5pm. The movie will be shown as soon as it gets dark, around 7pm. Entrance is R40 per person and children under three can get in free of charge. Unfortunately, no dogs will be allowed. Those wanting to bring their own chairs will be seated at the back. Should the event be cancelled due to rain, it will be screened the next night on 8 March.

Miller also wants to assure all attendees that the movie chosen for the evening will appeal to the whole audience with action, romance and wholesome family viewing.

There will be free, secure parking available next to the fire station on Lonehill Boulevard. Ice Cream, popcorn, Balkan Burgers, tea and coffee, and Chip ‘n Dip will also be on sale.
