Spanish sensation to rock Sandton bar

SANDTON - The Aficionado pop-up bar will host Spanish-inspired sensation, El Cantante, this upcoming weekend.

The duo will perform at the bar, located in Sandton, from 29 October and are set to excite audiences with music inspired by Spanish culture.

Collet Dawson, of the CoLab Network, explained that the duo will bring Spanish classics, influenced by Cuba, Mexico and Puerto Rico, to Johannesburg crowds, and have been met with much acclaim in the past.

“The rhythms and styles of bolero, tango, mambo, tejano, mariachi and traditional folklorica are included in the musical line-up that is set to once again rock audiences,” she said.

The duo consists of Cito, best known as frontman of the multi-award winning rock band, WONDERboom, and Martin Schofield, award nominee and fellow member of WONDERboom.

Cito explained that audiences can look forward to an intimate performance, which the bar is ideally suited for, and expressed excitement over the upcoming event.

“We believe Aficionado Pop-Up Bar will rock and we look forward to performing to a whole new audience at this elegant venue,” he said.

El Cantante will perform on 29 October, and 5 and 12 November, with all performances beginning at 7.30pm.
