Bad Neighbors: Profane entertainment at its best

JOBURG - If you have absolutely nothing else better to do and you have two hours to spare, then Bad Neighbors is the movie to watch.

Sex, drugs, alcohol, parenting and growing up are the central themes throughout the film.

Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne play a couple who are desperately trying to be the best parents to their daughter, but who also want to be cool and hold on to the days when they were young.

The comedy quickly develops into a wild and wacky rollercoaster that almost reminds the audience of the annoying calibre of profane comedy films such as There’s Something About Mary, American Pie and Scream.

The only thing that makes this movie watchable is the actors who have fully committed to their respective roles in the film. Ten out of 10 for Zac Efron who plays the leader of a college fraternity that moves in next door to the couple’s home. From someone who made his big debut on High School Musical – he deserves a round of applause for his performance in this film.

A feud develops between the couple and the new neighbours when the frat boys next door cannot keep down the music with all their partying. And in the spirit of getting back their baby’s sleeping hours at night, the couple commits to getting rid of their loud neighbours.

Efron and his mates refuse to go down without a fight and also commit to make the couple’s lives a living hell.

If stupid comedy is your thing and you think being drunk and high is funny, then prepare to be entertained because this movie has all of that and more. Details: www.uip.com
