Cirque Éloize SA run extended
JOBURG - The South African run of Cirque Éloize's dazzling dance circus show iD has been extended by a week, due to massive public demand.
Local promoters Showtime Management announced that the show, which will open on 19 August, has been extended until 14 September.
Cirque Éloize combines contemporary circus arts with urban dance.
“This astonishing modern circus transports audiences to a vibrant urban streetscape,” said publicist Debra de Souza on behalf of the promoters.
“The stage comes alive with the boundless energy of acrobats, breakdancers, and contortionists, who perform against a kaleidoscope of eye-popping video projections, building to a stunning finale on a one-of-a-kind trampowall.”
Based on its artists’ multidisciplinary talents, the innovative nature of Cirque Éloize is expressed through theatricality and humanity.
“With iD, Cirque Éloize presents a show positively crackling with daring and modernity,” said De Souza.
“The scene is set in the heart of a city, in a public space where people seek refuge and a chance to shed their anonymity; a place where identity is forged and individuality is expressed to a stimulating soundtrack created by composers Jean-Phi Goncalves and Alex McMahon.”
This dance-fuelled adrenalin rush will feature 14 performers from 12 disciplines.
Cirque Éloize’s iD will run from 19 August until 14 September at the Teatro, Montecasino, Montecasino Boulevard, Fourways.
