Hailey Jade Erasmus wins at the JBA Presidents Cup

Johannesburg Bowls Association (JBA) is an affiliate district of Bowls South Africa, it aims to encourage bowls as a family sport as well as a sport for all ages and abilities.

Morningside Country Club prides itself on its bowls team members.

Recently, two of their players won medals at the JBA Presidents Cup with Hailey Jade Erasmus bagging a bronze medal.

Erasmus said she was addicted to the challenge of bowling, highlighting that her journey in the sport started in 2021.

“I am extremely proud of what I have accomplished in the short time I have been bowling. The highlight of my year was winning the BSA Mixed Pairs with SA’s ‘Goat’, Gerry Baker, in Sasolburg in June this year.”

She added that she learned a great deal about the importance of compatibility in a team and that, win or lose, team members always brought out the best in each other.

“I appreciate and acknowledge the people that have contributed to my growth and development, taking time to practise with me and hone my skills, as I am still relatively new to the sport.”

Erasmus said winning the JBA Presidents Cup had increased her love for bowls.

“I am looking forward to what’s to come. I will keep on practising and working on being the best.”
