Young cricket players test their skills

The Cover Drive Cricket School accommodates a large number of age groups, from U7 to U19 and develops their cricket skills to become the best.

Passionate young cricket players woke up early on an icy morning to show off their skills at Grayston Preparatory School.

The Cover Drive Cricket School hosted the Wanderers teams at their home grounds.

The day aimed to test players’ preparation for the summer cricket league and the U9s, 11s, and 13s showed enthusiasm and came prepared .

Coach of the Cover Drive Sydwell Ndlovu said, “We chose this Sunday to test players to see how ready they are for the next coming league, and we also want to keep on developing their skills, helping and showing them where to improve.”

Ndlovu said that in addition to testing the players’ abilities, they build their self-confidence so they can play in front of an audience while honing their abilities.

“The day was a huge success as we saw many boys playing the sport with passion and showing how they have improved and how will they want to achieve their goals.”

Results:

Wanderers U9s mixed U10s scored 167: Cover Drive U9s 87, Wanderers won by 80 runs.
