Crusaders Football Club win in style, defeating Etimar FFD 2–1

After they were defeated by Transition FC, Crusaders FC came back strong, finishing the league on top 5.

Crusaders FC managed to shrug off Etimar Foundation Football Development 2–1 after struggling to get the development side off their turf for most of the first half.

The game took place on June 13.

According to Crusaders’ vice-captain Thabiso Phakedi, Etimar were leading 1–0 from a penalty but his team equalised in the second half from a free kick crossed by Thato Khaile and scored by right-back Collin Lefoto.

“I was watching the game from the bench and before I went on coach Lefa [Lefate Makunyane] gave me some good insight on how we can win the game, and a few minutes after I went on, I was able to score the first goal for the team, all thanks to the promptings of coach Lefa,” said Lefoto.

Phakedi concluded, “We started very slow and in the first half we missed a lot of chances. We made a comeback in the second half and I scored a penalty.”
