Special Olympics South Africa takes on SPAR challenge

Special Olympics South Africa 2022 ambassador Christinah Maloka was thrilled to see participants of the SPAR Women's Virtual Challenge complete the event.

The sunny morning of September 3 welcomed participants of the 2022 SPAR Women’s Virtual Challenge to an adventure filled with sweat, laughter and pure fun as they took on the 5km challenge in Bryanston.

The Special Olympics South Africa team were at the forefront of leading the challenge led by their current 2022 ambassador Christinah Maloka. Walkers of all ages met up at the starting point of the challenge located at the headquarters of the Special Olympics facility in Bryanston.

The participants, guided by marshals, made their way from the Epsom Downs Office Park to the SPAR in Hobart Grove Centre and back to complete the challenge.

“Being an ambassador for the Special Olympics South Africa team has been a dream of mine and I am more than happy to be put on this platform to celebrate others like myself. I am used to taking jogs and walks so this challenge was a breeze for me. I enjoyed my time with everyone that participated in the challenge,” said Maloka.

The participants were welcomed back by Special Olympics South Africa CEO Ancilla Smith with hugs, refreshments and a medal.
