Bryanston Warriors closes the season

BRYANSTON – The Bryanston Warriors Football Club celebrates another stellar season of soccer development.

Another season is done and dusted for Bryanston Warriors Football Club and it has been a good one.

The soccer club based at The Kings College and Preparatory School in Bryanston, played its last official league match away at Northerns Football Club, its U9 team recording an eighth win in 12 games, which included one draw and only three loses.

The team had an exceptional run in the Rand Central Local Football Association (RCLFA) league, scoring 58 goals in those 12 games.

“It is very rewarding to get to the end of the season and to be able to celebrate the kids’ successes and to praise their football growth and development,” said the club’s head of operations, Alison Cann.

“Like every new season, one of the highlights is always getting to know our new members, both parents and players alike. Our players are our biggest highlight, they always give their all and embody the passion of football. We also had four of our players selected for the RCLFA district team.”

These players are Edwin Ngarachu for the U12 team and Emmanuel Saka, Christopher Chirambo and Julien Damians-Nieman for the U19 team.

Cann explained that the club caters for teams from U6 to senior level. The club does not have a girls or women’s only team but girls do play in some of the boys teams.

The club will still have practices until its annual general meeting and prize-giving on 19 October. The club will then have a break and registrations for next season will open in November.

The next soccer season will start in February.
