Tennis players make a racquet at Bryanston Sports Club

BRYANSTON – Players are doing their best to be ready for leagues and tournaments at Bryanston Sports Club.

The tennis courts are again abuzz at the Bryanston Sports Club with lots of social tennis and training happening ahead of imminent leagues and tournaments.

Chairperson of tennis at the club, Derrick van der Peet said the competitive season was about to start.

This means the club’s seven men’s teams and at least three women’s teams will kick off their Egoli Premier League matches in the first weekend of February.

“We want all our teams to stay in their divisions this year, but our women always finish near the top of their division,” he said.

This league finishes in March.

Then there are two more leagues played in the year: the first from May to June and the second from September to October.

The top women players in the country also convene at Bryanston for the annual Wiphold Next Gen Camp and Tournament in late June and early July.
