#ICYMI: Kevin Anderson out of the US Open

South Africa’s top-ranked tennis player, Kevin Anderson, bowed out of the US Open following a tough match against Dominic Thiem in the round of 16.

The former St Stithians College lost in straight sets 7–5, 6–2, 7–6.

Following his loss, Anderson said, “It was an incredibly tough match against Dominic today, but I’m pleased to get through to the round of 16. Being the first to play under the roof of Louis Armstrong was pretty cool too.”

@channelafrica1 South Africa's Kevin Anderson crashed out of the US Open last night after losing to Austria's Dominic Thiem in the round of 16. The ninth-seeded Thiem won in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2, 7-6 (7/2) in two hours and 36 minutes.
