Memorial for PSL stalwart Leboa

JOBURG – PSL hosts memorial service for the late Dan Leboa.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) offices in Parktown, Johannesburg, will host a memorial service for the late Dan Leboa on 19 October.

Leboa, who worked in football administration since 1972 serving both at club level and also for the league as a chief gate controller and later as PSL general manager, died on 13 October after a short illness.

The service will start at 2pm in the auditorium of the league’s offices on 2 Winchester Road in Parktown and run until 4pm.

The funeral service for Leboa will be held on 22 October at the Nasrect Chapel, Nasrec Road in Johannesburg south, starting from 8am until 10am, and then the cortege will then proceed to his final resting place at the Nasrec Cemetery.

The league, through its chairperson Dr Irvin ‘Iron Duke’ Khoza, who is also chairperson of Orlando Pirates Football Club where Leboa once worked, conveyed its condolences to the Leboa family.

“Dan served football with respect and dignity,” he said. “He represented longevity in football and was an institution. We would like to thank his family for allowing him to serve the game.

“We also thank him for his dedication to serving the people and football. May his soul rest in peace.”
