40 children enjoy a community sports day in Alex

SANDTON – Nielsen Sports together with Afrika Tikkun recently hosts their annual community day.

 

Nielsen Sports spent its annual community day with Afrika Tikkun at the Phutaditjhaba Centre in Alex on 28 June.

The Nielsen staff participated in a sports day with 40 children, aged four to six, from Afrika Tikkun’s Early Childhood Development Programme.

Managing director of Nielsen Sports Africa, Ros Goldin, said they wanted to contribute to a project in which they could offer the most value based on their knowledge and skills.

“Our staff have a passion for sport and we wanted to use our experience to assist the community in a meaningful way. We are grateful to Afrika Tikkun for hosting us. They are a wonderful organisation that is making a valuable contribution to the local community.

“We greatly respect and admire what they continue to achieve and we’re glad that we could play a very small role,” said Goldin.

In addition to acting as referees, coaches and timekeepers, the company also donated sports equipment to the programme to be used for ongoing projects.

Thomas Taole, sports development manager for Afrika Tikkun said, “I would like to thank Nielsen Sports for their hard work and donations, all of which makes an enormous difference to our programme. I hope that we can continue with this project moving forward,” said Taole.
