The first lady of sport goes global

JOBURG – Carol continues to break boundaries as a sportscaster

Award-winning local sports broadcaster, Carol Tshabalala, is now a regular face on the British soccer show, Barclays Premier League Football Today.

Tshabalala is a sports television presenter, emcee, radio presenter, boxing ring announcer, scriptwriter and voice artist.

She recently anchored the Premier League Football Today live show in the London studios, alongside two English Premier League greats, Darren Bent, former Sunderland and Tottenham Hotspurs player and Matthew Upson, former Chelsea and West Ham player.

The self-acclaimed first lady of sport, Tshabalala has now been in the business for 16 years and is arguably one of the best sports anchors this country has produced.

She is also the only African to have co-hosted the biggest international soccer awards event, the Fifa Ballon d’Or, which she did in 2011.

Always paving a way in the sports industry, Tshabalala is now the only African-based presenter to join the English Premier League sportscasters and one of only a handful of women presenters.

The activation will include exhibitions from all the La Liga teams, giveaways, a live performance by award-winning rapper Cassper Nyovest, and entrance will be free.
