HYDE PARK – Hyde Park High School science pupils show off their knowledge at Minquiz

The Hyde Park High School science department was made proud at the Minquiz at Sci-Bono Discovery Centre in Newtown.

Pupils Sam Hindson, Jonathan Taylor and Nina Simon all performed exceptionally well at the competition which is a much-anticipated science quiz.

Spokeperson for the school Avril Wright said, “Hyde Park did well to make it into the second round of the platinum schools division. Platinum schools are well-resourced government schools as well as private schools.

“There were approximately 30 platinum schools and 30 gold schools [under-resourced schools] at this event.” She added that the top five schools in each category went into the second round where Hyde Park High was placed fourth overall.

Principal of the school, Manolis Vogiatzis, congratulated Hindson and Taylor who achieved certificates of distinction for their individual scores in the written test.
