Entries for Totalsports Women’s Race open

NEWTOWN – Find out how to enter the Totalsports Women’s Race set to take place on 9 August.

The Totalsports Women’s Race will continue its fight against cancer by encouraging walkers and runners to participate in a 5km or 10km walk or run, starting from Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown.

The race supports PinkDrive, a non-profit organisation committed to spreading breast cancer awareness, education and offering free services to people who do not have medical insurance.

“We are excited to hit the ground running in the fight against cancer and fully support PinkDrive’s underlying message that ‘Early Detection Saves Lives’,” stated Charmaine Claasens, head of marketing of Totalsport.

Claasens said that they encourage participants to enjoy the route, the vibe and the entertainment.

“Most importantly, enjoy being part of the Totalsports Women’s Race movement by taking control of your health.”

PinkDrive will join in the festivities and will offer free clinical breast examinations at the event from their pink ‘Shop4Cancer’ stall. Participants in the race are encouraged to dress in pink in order to show their support for the cause.

The Totalsports Women’s Race will take place on 9 August at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown from 8am.

Entry costs are as follows:

10km race – R100.

5km race – R60.
