Nedbank Cup last 16 kick-off will be no April Fool’s Day

JOBURG - The Nedbank Cup last round of 16 will be no April Fool's Day joke as the Premier Soccer League has confirmed the cup competition will kick off on 1 April.

 

ABC Motsepe League side Magesi FC will open the last 16 round of the tournament when they host 2010 champions, Bidvest Wits at the Peter Mokaba Stadium with kick-off set for 8pm.

The next day will see two Premier Division clubs clashing when 2008 finalists Black Aces welcome Maritzburg United to the Kanyamazane Stadium, while Platinum Stars and Polokwane City entertain each other at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, with both matches set to kick-off at 3pm.

In the evening, Free State Stars will make a second successive trip to Athlone Stadium in the competition, this time, to face Santos at 8.15pm. Kicking off at the same time will be a match between defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns and National First Division (NFD) club Mbombela United at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.

On 3 April, Jomo Cosmos and Orlando Pirates will square-up at Olen Park Stadium in Potchefstroom, while Lamontville Golden Arrows will be at home to NFD log leaders, Baroka FC at Chatsworth Stadium. Both matches will kick-off at 3pm.

The last day match of the Nedbank Cup last 16 will be on 5 April when 2012 champions, SuperSport United take on the University of Pretoria in the much-anticipated Tshwane derby at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium with kick-off set for 7.30pm.
