Pupils take on sprint challenge

BRYANSTON – A group of Bryanston High School pupils recently took part in the Discovery Duathlon Sandton Schools Challenge, a multi-sport event which allows participants to run and cycle in one race.

The pupils experienced Sandton through an inner city route which took them through sections of West and Rivonia roads, and Grayston and Marlboro drives.

Lauren Streng, marketing co-ordinator of the school, said the two teams from the school performed at their best while taking part in the Discovery Duathlon sprint and super sprint distance categories.

Matric pupil Michael Ferreira completed the overall super sprint distance in second place and fellow matric pupil Luke Schlebusch completed the distance in third place. Grade 10 pupil Cameron Macnair completed the distance in eighth place while fellow Grade 10 pupil, Gareth Edwards came in at 16th place.

In the school’s junior team, Thomas Schlebusch completed the super sprint distance in fifth place.
