Telkom Knockout tickets snapped-up in just three hours

JOBURG - TELKOM Knockout tickets for this year's final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs have been sold out in just three hours.

This was confirmed by the Premier Soccer League for the match that will take place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on 16 December, with kick-off set for 6pm.

The league said ticket sales opened at 1.30pm on the 24th November and by 4.30pm there were no tickets available. Only hospitality packages were available through the stadium management offices.

The league’s acting CEO, Mato Madlala, has expressed her gratitude to football supporters and members of the public for the support.

“We have been overwhelmed by this positive response from the public,” she said. “We knew that we were going to get a capacity crowd but we never anticipated selling out the whole stadium in just a few hours.

“This has been a pleasant surprise and it affirms the fact that football remains relevant and extremely popular with millions of our people because no other sport can claim to have done the same in this country.

“We look forward to a packed Moses Mabhida Stadium on the 16th December and a great final between two great teams, Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs.”

Madlala warned against those who will be trying to produce fraudulent tickets. “Through our co-operation with the South African Police Service and other security service providers, we will adopt a zero tolerance to fraudulent tickets. We urge our people not to purchase tickets from the black market,” Madlala said.
