The first group to set off on route was the the elite group of cyclists. There was a vibrant atmosphere at the start line with cyclists excited for the challenging day ahead.
Other groups that are on route of the challenge are the 50s and 55+ age group, the Charity Double Lappers, the non-racing ladies group and the A, B, C, D and E batches of cyclists.
Social media was abuzz with the participants and supporters sharing their excitement for the race.
