This major event has two qualifying classes with the top three riders going through to the final round.
Lynda Records explained that in this round, each competitor rides the derby test on their own horse, then they swop horses and each rider has to ride their competitor’s horse.The rider has a three-minute warm-up on their competitor’s horse then has to ride the same derby test.
There are three judges and the winner is the rider with the highest overall percentage on all three horses.
Records added that the winning horse is the horse which has the highest overall percentage after all three riders have ridden it. She said this is one of the most challenging competitions.
In second place was Adriaan van Wyk on Famous and De Kock was third.
