Legends will be in action at cricket Sixes

JOBURG - The Momentum Cricket Sixes on 5 September, which marks one of the great sporting events of the year, is back, bigger and better this year at the Wanderers.

The event incorporates a competitive cricket format for corporate teams to play with exciting cricket legends.

The event is presented by South African cricket stars Graeme Smith, Mark Boucher and Justin Kemp. The Sixes promises a day of legendary cricket and great entertainment filled with fun, and all the funds raised will go to the Momentum 2 Excellence bursary programme and the Rhinos in Safe Hands initiative under the patronage of Boucher.

The action-packed tournament will see 12 teams consisting of 10-man squads go head-to-head.

Each team will include a couple of South African cricket legends such as Dale Steyn, Smith, David Miller and Jacques Kallis, as well as international cricketers such as Darren Gough, Damien Martyn and Kevin Pietersen.

“After a successful event in 2014 we are excited for an even better 2015 Sixes,” said Smith, former South African cricket captain and co-founder of the event.

“We are very proud of what this tournament has achieved. No other event gives fans and teams the chance to spend time with their cricket heroes while supporting a highly worthwhile cause. Our entertainment line-up for the day is the best and we know everyone will enjoy it.”

Tickets to the Momentum Cricket Sixes are limited and individuals are encouraged to book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
