Football club kicks for a cause

SANDTON - The Sandton Parks Football Club U11 soccer team competed in the Gothia World Youth Cup in Gotenburg, Sweden for the first time.

This opportunity provided the players with the chance to be among 1 600 teams from 80 nations around the world, and provided the team a chance to raise awareness about the challenges back home. They chose to stand up and speak out for people affected by malaria in Africa.

The club has partnered with Goodbye Malaria, an initiative working towards the prevention and elimination of malaria in Africa. The club continues to run a malaria awareness campaign, Kicking for a Cause and to raise funds for the initiative.
