The race, hosted as part of the union’s school league races, take place every month and saw Erwee place third and Dreyer finishing in fourth.
Jennie Dallas, on behalf of the canoe union explained how paddlers who took part in the different races were graded at each race.
“Points are awarded to all finishers on a sliding scale similar to that of a motor Grand Prix… the points [then] accumulate throughout the year so that consistency and regular participation is rewarded, and not just the top three podium finishes in each age group,” Dallas said.
