JOBURG – Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates and Adidas have unveiled the 2015/16 jersey that will be donned by the Buccaneers in their away matches.

The Buccaneers believe every war has its battle; every battle has its victory; every victory has its hero – and every hero has his weapons and armour. Ahead of next season’s battle for supremacy in the Absa Premiership, Pirates and Adidas have once again combined to reveal the armour that the Buccaneers will don when they take to the field.

The launch of the 2015/16 away kit gives both the players and fans an opportunity to see a powerful red mist descend upon the Bidvest Stadium pitch this weekend when the Buccaneers put their new jersey to the test as they entertain AS Kaloum in the Confederation of African Football (Caf) Confederations Cup play-offs second leg match.

With the armband and dotted mesh around his arm, and a brand new v-necked collar, Oupa Manyisa will lead his men out of the dressing room at their temporary home-away-from-home in what will be the brightest and most vibrant away jersey the Soweto giants have sported in recent memory.

With the famous badge in 3D across the heart, and the unmistakable skull and crossbones embossed on the back, the 2015/16 jersey continues with the trend of not only being a top quality piece of football apparel, but also a fashionable garment off the field.

Adrian De Souza, senior category manager at Adidas South Africa, was excited about the jersey and said, “This will be a trendy jersey that further entrenches a strong emotional connection with the club and stimulates a sense of pride in the jersey, particularly among the young supporters.”
